This past weekend, 580 volunteers cleaned up 630+ bags of worth of litter at 26 individual (but together) neighborhood cleanups in San Francisco. Always amazed at the incredibly consistent turnouts citywide, but we're always searching for more people to join us!

Is anything cuter or more inspiring than 40 second graders excited to clean up San Francisco streets? Students from SF Day School fanned out from their school in NOPA to pick up litter. Even the tiniest hands can make a big difference.

Big thanks to this big group from @EY_US and a group from @Kilroyrealty who came out this morning to clean Ocean Beach. Many hands making light work, 24 very full bags of trash and thousand of cigarette butts removed from the environment. Nicely done!

A true team effort today at the One Richmond Cleanup. 5 volunteers including a student from Holy Name and employee from @usfca, and local residents picked up litter. We ran into a @sfpublicworks corridor ambassador sweeping trash and another who picked up our trash bags.

Back out there to do some maintenance of some Pocket Gardens in the Inner Richmond. We cleaned out, weeded, remulched, watered, and planted a few new plots. And, testing out the Maintenance Form created in @airtable to help us track the growing number of pocket gardens.

San Francisco must take the lead in this effort to prevent the most littered item that is toxic to the environment, that cities like Santa Cruz, Capitola, and Tiburon have already successfully done. This will help pave the way for even more cities to do the same. (2/2)
