I wish they taught kids how to manage money in school. It’s a skill that lasts a lifetime. The first lesson? Your money grows faster if you don’t show it off.

If the big race is this weekend, nothing new this week. Nothing super hard (until the race) so you’re ready. Why try a new ‘last hard workout’ day the week of NXR? Or State? Doesn’t make sense

At the end of the State Championship race, the worst thought to have is…. I could have XXX… or YYY. But the reality is …. YOU made those in race decisions. Stop making bad decisions. Make a good plan and execute it. If it doesn’t work, change the plan for next time.

If you make a plan, and stick to it, maybe good things will happen. Try it:)

If the gun goes off, and you have nothing planned, then, when nothing happens in the race, you’ve succeeded. Plan out success. Don’t wait for it to show up.

Pay close attention to your character rather than your reputation. Your character is who you really are - the person your friends know. Your reputation is what others say and think on the Internet. That means nothing.

As you head into the end of the season, best to think about the next few races as the ‘beginning’ of the racing season rather than the ‘end.’ The level of excitement is much stronger if you anticipate racing.

If all you do is concentrate on what’s wrong and repair it, you never focus on what’s right to explore it. Moving away from a problem is great but actively moving to promote positive things in life is what makes life fun and purposeful.

The warm up is a place where you prepare the mind and body for what is next. Use the same warm up every time. It helps reduce anxiety and lets your body know a physical demand is on the way.

Letting your mind go whenever it wants to go, whenever it wants to go there, is hugely problematic. You do have control of your thoughts. Learn to control them.

Take control of your workout so it doesn’t control you. If you manage the workout, in control, you’ll walk away satisfied. Do that over and over and you’ve got a Champion.

The attitude you bring to practice is most likely the attitude you will show up to the race with.

If you want to be the same athlete tomorrow that you were yesterday, just repeat your training over and over again. If you want progress, you have to add change.

Life teaches you all sorts of wonderful things but if you wait for personal experience, it takes too long. Learn from others. Don’t repeat their mistakes.
