It is finally HERE!!!! Our work from @guptalabunc in @Nature on how DNA damage is transduced from the nucleus to cGAS! So incredibly thankful to @guptalabunc for entrusting me with this mammoth project through my PhD!! Over 10 years and more in the making!!!
New insights into how DNA damage is sensed by cGAS to activate necroptosis and suppress cancer. Congrats to lead authors Min-Guk Cho, @RashmiJKumar, and thanks to all of our awesome collaborators. https://t.co/FuW9vRx6Hy

The precancer microenvironment (PME) is related to - yet distinct from - the tumor microenvironment (TME). All studies on precancer biology & progression should incorporate a detailed assessment of the PME. In many respects, this is the linchpin for enabling cancer interception.
New perspective in @NatureRevCancer Defining precancer: a grand challenge for the cancer community https://t.co/ApQjyCiElC From @theNCI Precancer Think Tank Team, we hope the article provides researchers with a framework to start addressing key topics in preneoplasia research.

Advanced molecular biology with Dr. Sancar was an absolute highlight of my PhD @UNC_BCBP!! So wonderful to see this!
Where some might retire after achieving the most prestigious award in science, Aziz Sancar, MD, PhD, of @UNC_BCBP, continues to devote his life to scientific discovery and mentoring future researchers. #NobelPrize

4 years ago, I received a stethoscope from @UMichMedSchool. It has served as a constant reminder that in order to heal, we must listen. Grateful to learn from mentors committed to listening and uplifting the communities we serve - in clinic, in the OR, and in our research.
Congratulations to Luca Borah for receiving the Student Research Award! This is presented to a medical student or graduate student who has demonstrated originality and scientific merit in research.
