1/I find it v surprising that people fall for grifters like Andrew Tate.
In general, smart people don't need to tell you that they're smart, rich people don't need to tell you that they're rich, and high status guys don't need to go on constantly about how high status they are.

2/Yet all these gurus do is talk about how smart, rich and generally high status they are.
Maybe it's more of an Irish/ British thing to be put off by that?

I've noticed before that some people have weirdly off understandings of what a rich/smart/important person looks like - probably because they haven't actually encountered many before - so I guess it's targeting that type of person
