.@ace_national is a completely politicised organisation nowadays. Its decision-making, in terms of what gets funded and what doesn't, is highly ideological. What it means here is "don't even think about disagreeing with OUR politics".
APNews: Arts Council England (@ace_national) has updated its policies, warning that "political statements" made by individuals linked to an organisation can cause "reputational risk", breaching funding agreements (1/5)

@stephenm68 It also means that anyone who is in any way connected to an arts organisation funded by ACE and who makes what is deemed a “political statement “ ie one that criticises them or the government, might cause that funding to be removed. Just confirms that ACE is now a government body

@benjcartlidge I still remember all my equations of motion, etc, from O-Levels in Malaysia 30 years ago because we had to memorise them. For A-Levels in the UK we were given formula books and as a result I remember nothing.

🇫🇮 Finland has closed all eight crossing points it shares with 🇷🇺Russia along its almost 1,400 km border for "national security" reasons. NGOs condemn the move, saying it puts the lives of hundreds of asylum seekers at risk. #EuronewsWitness

I’m immensely proud of the fact that we have a decent number of unseen examinations of exactly this kind. A coursework-only assessment regime is vulnerable to cheating, lacks rigour, and benefits a small number of people with disproportionate access to resources.
Bring back traditional exams. Three hours; four essays; closed book. You, your pen, and your mind staring the examiner down. I don't accept the ridiculous argument that "in real life you can look things up". In real life you'd look like an idiot if you looked basic things up.

@benjcartlidge The exam tests tests your mental appropriation of the material. It's the best diagnostic, and the best training in mastery of a subject
