It’s a blessing to be able to filter out awful neighbors just by being, but it never ceases to amaze me how big of an influence hate and bigotry have on people’s decisions.

We’re in our 3rd neighborhood where multiple homes go “on sale” all of a sudden. There’s an open house a couple of doors down this weekend. Several cars made a quick U-turn away from it as the kids and I walked out of our house to go to the park.

I am blessed to care for many Muslim Afghani refugee families in my practice. I treat them with respect and receive that in return. No one should be treated differently because of their race/ religion/ gender/ sexual orientation.
