I got pregnant my 1st year of surgery residency. I’m told you already have Muslim and Black going against you, what were you thinking getting pregnant?

@DrAkeemMarsh
It was repeated every single year!
Of course it didn’t help that I kept having babies every single year and I still remained Black and Muslim 😂
@QaaliHussein1
When I read these horrifying things I suppose like many I think of what great line I’d use to shut up offender and put them in their place. But I know that’s not usually what happens, only the shock, pain, frustration, sadness. So sorry you had to, have to, deal with such things.
@nelson_rosen
Even when it happens so frequently that you plan on how to answer, the pain and frustration and knowing that you’re the one to suffer consequences if you speak up makes it impossible.
@QaaliHussein1
I hope you had a healthy baby and crushed residency. Sorry to hear you were on the receiving end of this much ignorance and I’m sorry it’s been dozens upon dozens of times.
@QaaliHussein1
What a cruel thing to say. As if all those things were some kind of liability instead of being assets. I'm so glad you made it through all that Dr. Hussein. We're privileged to have you in medicine ❤️
@QaaliHussein1
Well if you feel that being Black and Muslim is a limitation of any sort.
You can always relocate to a pro black muslim country such as Egypt or Morocco or or or.
I suppose it is easier just playing the victim in an African pro Eurosentric country.
Sies man pathetic.
