Find the 14,000 men. We've joined forces with the NHS to find the undiagnosed men who haven’t started prostate cancer treatment due to the pandemic. 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer. Share our risk checker and help find them: #MenWeAreWithYou

@KevinJohnBrady Our risk checker has been taking longer to load this morning, because so many people want to take it! It should be working again now, but if you're still having issues we'd suggest keeping the page open and reloading it a little later. Thank you for your support

@ProstateUK I’ve just used the checker and am advised to seek GP advice because of my age ( all other factors eg ethnicity, relatives etc were negative ). But my GP and NHS know my age - so why aren’t we being leafleted / written to by NHS ??

@THEWHITLAM Hi hope you're well 😊 This campaign is to support men to understand their risk of prostate cancer & make an informed choice about whether to have a PSA test. If you’re 50+ & have thought carefully about the pros & cons and would like a test, your GP should give you one.

@ProstateUK Interesting difference with other #cancer screening strategies. Here the onus is on men themselves, in other cancers there are programmes that targets people at risk (eg occult blood in over 60’s). Have you checked how GPs will respond to this? #PrimaryCare

@profdkelly Hi. Our campaign is a partnership with NHS and we've worked with clinical communities in the planning process. GPs are supportive of our risk awareness and informed choice for men message. Our top priority is funding research to help us develop a national screening programme.

@ProstateUK Is an enlarged prostate different to prostate cancer? My father had surgery for this at age 71. I turn 45 this year so are my risks increased on those 2 factors?

@Devstheoriginal Hi. An enlarged prostate is a different condition and doesn't increase your risk of prostate cancer. You can read more about risk factors for prostate cancer here: Best Wishes The Specialist Nurse Team

@ProstateUK I attended the funeral of a good friend on Monday. He had prostate cancer which was in remission but due to the negligence and blasé approach to infection boundary protocol by the hospital, he died from hospital contracted Covid & sepsis.

@ProstateUK Having my father diagnosed as terminal when he was only 62 & survived for 18months , I find it frustrating that my doctor aren’t particularly interested in giving me a blood test for cancer now I’m 46,would be good if men could have a yearly test like woman do for breast cancer

@andrewkelly58 A man's risk of developing prostate cancer increases once over the age of 50, and the guidelines are that any man over 50 can request a PSA test after discussing the pros and cons the GP. You can read more about the NHS Risk Management Programme here:
