There is no "life-affirming option." The baby is going to die. Period. Either she dies immediately through procedural abortion or she dies in utero or she dies after birth, hastened by pain killers which suppress breathing. TX Right to Life just wants to her to die their way.

We mourn the decision to take Baby Coxโ€™s life rather than give her every chance at life. There are life-affirming options rather than abortion.

@ProTruth4Life High risk of demise is not the same as guarantee. What does your argument gain by exaggeration?

@secularprolife I trust the multiple specialists who have concluded that the baby will not. Not maybe die. Will die.

@ProTruth4Life They would prefer the family risk losing a wife/mother or have her suffer serious injury.

@ProTruth4Life As a doctor I can tell doctors are frequently wrong about these types of predictions.

@ProTruth4Life Itโ€™s not possible for us to predict who dies or who doesnโ€™t with absolute certainty.

@ProTruth4Life Itโ€™s selfish. You could prevent suffering, but you wonโ€™t. Why? To fulfill some moral or religious need you have? A fetus has no religion. A baby knows nothing but whatever sensations theyโ€™re capable of feeling. The idea of a babyโ€™s entire life being suffering is an atrocity.

@ProTruth4Life So weird how the only two pro-abortion arguments are "blatantly lying" and "insulting everyone who doesn't fall for the blatant lies".

@ProTruth4Life Babies w/Trisomy 18 don't necessarily die after birth. I support Kate Cox's right to decide on an abortion, but you're not being 100% truthful here.

@ProTruth4Life A - You don't know that. While the survival rate *is* low (8%), there are people who have Edward's syndrome and are still alive. B - Texas allows abortions if there's a 'severe and irreversible fetal abnormality'. She could have gotten it under that exception if she wanted.
