Excited to share work I conducted with @HerveyJumper and @DavidJBrang at @NeurosurgUCSF! Using one of the largest ECoG glioma datasets, we identified distinct electrophysiologic signatures of language-critical sites in glioma-infiltrated cortex. #neurosurgery #glioma #ECoG
New paper with @HerveyJumper and @VardhaanAmbati showing that causal (DCS+) language cortex in glioma patients has greater ECoG information encoding (higher entropy and linguistic decoding). DCS+ sites showed stronger oscillations and high gamma, enabling prediction of DCS sites.

New in @Nature_NPJ, @DorisWangLab presents an AI approach for identifying personalized deep brain stimulation (DBS) settings to improve walking in people with #Parkinsons. Their findings lay the groundwork for adaptive DBS systems that adjust in real-time: https://t.co/azrsASmKGS

Can we reboot walking after Parkinson's disease DBS? Can AI teach deep brain stimulation devices to help people 'walk the walk?' A new study by Wang and colleagues in Nature Parkinson’s Disease says MAYBE. Using personalized data-driven models, researchers at UCSF have optimized

Thanks to @NSTumorSection for the opportunity to share our work along with so many amazing projects! #AANS25
Always an honor and a privilege to moderate a session for @NSTumorSection at @AANSNeuro 2025. Great to see the future of #neurosurgery is bright. Looking forward to more great things from our award winners.

Honored to present our work leveraging scRNA-seq to investigate bevacizumab resistance in GBM at @AANSNeuro! Huge thanks to @ManishKAghi for mentorship throughout this project. @NeurosurgUCSF #AANS25
Congrats to @UCSFMedicine MS3 @PoojanShuk90434 for winning the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation Award for his study in my lab developing a single cell atlas of patient GBMs progressing on bevacizumab - we need to better understands mechanisms of adaptive resistance in GBM

Out in preprint today, we show Zero-shot, single-sequence, structure-free allosteric residue prediction with protein language models. Attention maps from protein language models contain information about allostery, and can be directly used for state-of-the-art allosteric residue

In #JNeurosci, @DorisWangLab shows that their novel approach for recording the electrical activity of the spinal cord in participants identifies oscillatory patterns in the neural signals that correspond to voluntary movement: https://t.co/dwMoHw0okh

Thrilled to announce that this Monday, my work was published in @Cancer_Cell! Terrible day to be locked out of @X, but after spamming support, I'm excited to share the highlights today! In this paper, the @ManishKAghi lab demonstrates that #neutrophils infiltrate #glioblastoma
Published today in @Cancer_Cell, @meeki_lad, @ManishKAghi and colleagues show that in #glioblastoma a subset of neutrophils that originate from the skull bone marrow can present antigen and mediate an antitumor response: https://t.co/3nVU38cw3T

Very excited to share our recent work! Here we report movement related oscillations recorded from the epidural surface of the spinal cord in awake human subjects with intact spinal cords. https://t.co/hn5R2ec1re

Little is known about the electrophysiologic activity of the intact human spinal cord during volitional movement. We analyzed epidural spinal recordings from a total of five human subjects of both...
Super excited to share our recent publication, led by @PoojanShuk90434. Human Cervical Epidural Spinal Electrogram Topographically Maps Distinct Volitional Movements
