Don't think we can really compare current times with previous due to the shoes. Whilst it is still a very good achievement, the level the best are running at is still just as far away.
Before today, seventeen British men had run a sub-2:16 marathon in 2025. In Valencia, the same number did it in one race. Unprecedented depth!

He's thrown himself under the bus. No player is bigger than the club. Don't think Brighton will be his last game. I think it's already been played now.

Well said Emma!
Anyone watching that game & not seeing the positive steps Liverpool are starting to make under with Gareth Taylor, are seeing different things to me. The squad needs numbers - signings in Jan & injured players back. They defended brilliantly & there was threat up front. Progress.

Fightback? They were winning 1 nil against a side with 9 players out injured. They scraped past them! The same Rachel Corsie who aggressively said Liverpool were embarrassing before kickoff!
🗣️ "That was a very good reaction from Arsenal!" Rachel Corsie praises the Gunners’ fightback against Liverpool 💪

Beyond disappointing. 20+ years ago my Dad was diagnosed. No symptoms just checked because of his age. Caught early and is still with us now in his 80’s. This isn’t the way forward to save lives.
The UK National Screening Committee’s decision to say ‘no’ to #ProstateCancer screening for the vast majority of men is deeply disappointing. This isn’t the end of the story. We won’t stop until we have a screening programme for all men. ➡️ Read more: https://t.co/KQZAHHrksQ

One in two of us will be directly affected by dementia - either developing the condition ourselves, caring for someone with it, or both. Lifelong Red Ste shared his story during a special visit to Anfield arranged by official club partner @CadburyUK, where he and daughter Faye

I’ll be honest, the last 3 years I’ve been an absolute shell of the person I was before. It’s got increasingly more difficult to just do the most basic things. I feel like I’m finally turning a corner. Can’t tell you how many times I kept telling myself to just get on with it!
@Pippa35 @DominicKing_DM Everybody has lost someone close to them at some point in their life. Everybody also has to get on with their life's and not fail to do the absolute basics in their work life. This might explain why we are not at our very best but I cant be the reason we are this bad.

One of the worst things about yesterday, is quite how many people think Calvin Ramsay should have started the game because he is a right back. Right back was not the issue yesterday. We played well until they scored and then our heads went to mush. Ramsay doesn’t help with that.

Hempo. I do wish the BBC would realise you can praise City without throwing shade at Gareth Taylor.

With just one point from seven WSL games this season, Liverpool are not where they want to be. There’s several reasons why. ✍🏻 👇🏻 #lfc

With just one point from their first seven Women's Super League matches this season Liverpool are not where they want to be, but the January transfer window could be key to their campaign.

Why do fans of a certain team assume something you post is about them, when you don't even mention them?

He will no doubt get criticised for this, but fans are paying a lot of money to watch increasingly less football. Thankfully on Sunday, we should see two sides who actually like playing football and who won't take a minute over every throw in and corner.
🗣️ "It's become more and more time-wasting. It's become more things I don't like about the game." Liverpool manager Arne Slot discusses the different tactics used in the Premier League this season 📋
