The Fall APL Editor's Meeting just wrapped up! We shared best practices and discussed new ways to best serve our authors and readers. Exciting things to come. The highlight was seeing our colleagues in person - what a GREAT team!

Obviously the way how grants are evaluated is not working, in particular with the increasing pressure of numbers on the system. An other question is if we are really trained to recognise ground breaking ideas! Are we all up to the task? Something to reflect about 🧠
👉 I didn’t get the funding for projects on mRNA-research for most of my career. Now that the subject is considered more important, there was even a study done in the Harvard Business Review that tried to find out why I never got money in the past👇🏼🧶

I cannot be more excited with the Nobel promise in chemistry this year!!!!! Quantum dots and nano technology. I still remember meeting Moungi in his office and lecturing me on how to be successful. Congrats to Moungi, Brus and Ekimov and all my colleagues that pioneer the field!
