With millions in public money handed to private interests and serious questions over transparency and accountability, why hasn’t there been an inquiry into the goings-on on Teesside? Watch the full episode of Page 94, the Private Eye podcast, on YouTube.

Really enjoyed this sweeping account of the Greens' leftward shift from the People party to Polanski, by unofficial Green party historian @AdamRamsay

Zack Polanski’s smash-hit eco-populism might seem like a sudden gear-change for the Green party. In fact it’s part of a tectonic shift some of its members have been driving for more than a decade....

People have tried to say that the Green surge is just on social media. Or in a bubble that's just about polls and just about new members. Yet up and down the country - Greens are also winning elections. Huge congratulations to Canterbury Greens! 💚🎉 https://t.co/0qbagSvIYp

Watching Labour MPs take a wrecking ball to nature makes me so angry & so sad. Their action tonight voting down amendments to the #Planning bill intended to protect wildlife & habitats from destruction is so reckless & so counterproductive. People didn’t vote Labour for this 👇

⚠️Planning bill update ⚠️ as expected Labour was whipped into voting down every amendment that would protect nature from this bill. They rejected the most basic fluffing protections for endangered species. They even rejected saving chalk streams! Now it goes back to the Lords

Another council meeting, heated courtesy of the hot air pumped out by the Tories. Reform fully backed the Tory white paper. Again proving there's nothing different about reform It's just a more extreme version of the same sleazy politics, backed by the same billionaires working

“Here’s the bias of politics: leftwing policies are portrayed as unrealistic and childish, while the centre and right’s ideas are framed as sensible and all that’s possible.” My column on a system that welcomes Reform and dismisses the Greens as fantasy.
