When I joined @bluesky in August 2024, it was a bit lonely and there wasn't a lot of content that I found interesting. That's all changed now and it's pretty much how Twitter was 5 or 10 years ago.

Silvertown blues. From the @guardian: "Fire crews tackle blaze after ‘pre-planned’ film set explosions near the O2". The article mentions the O2 several times. The fire was in Silvertown, on the other side of the river, which is about 400m wide here. https://t.co/QnDFe5XYS8

The paper was compiled by a bunch of smart people from the UK semiconductor industry, and me. It contains some useful insights. I'll buy a beer for the first person who can spot the true, but unhelpful statistic on page 8.

Google maps told me that 1st June was my busiest day of the month. I wonder what their definition of 'busy" is? It looks like they think I flew 11K km, ran 14 km and drove 14 km. The driving was actually buses and they missed a train, underground and a load of walking.

Well said, @RyanCoogan. I have noticed this phenomenon. I refuse to queue and sometimes get told that I'm pushing it. It's not helped by inexperienced bar people who fail to notice who arrived first. https://t.co/kOcJWr24dT

From the @Independent. It would appear that someone has been robbing Anita Pallenberg's grave. @JohnRentoul

From the @Independent today. Cumbria is an English county, and the implication is that the sinkhole is in a nearby county, like Lancashire or Yorkshire, so why not say so, @JohnRentoul. (The article says it's actually in Cumbria).

The @Independent is never the most numerate of publications. Having more than one fire to battle in 120 square metres seems implausible. That's about 11 metres x 11 metres. I think they mean 120 metres squared, which is "about the size of 2 football pitches", @JohnRentoul

From time to time, @googlemaps throws up something unexpected. In this case, a restaurant is replying to a review I left 4 years ago, starting with "thank you for your recent review".
