The rectus abdominis muscle extends from the pubic symphysis, pubic crest & pubic tubercle inferiorly, to the xiphoid process & costal cartilages of ribs V to VII superiorly. Based on genetics, the number of transverse connective tissue bands varies & determines how many "packs"

The ck ab photo isn't showing the entire muscle. Under the waistline is the rest of the rectus abdominis so if 8 abs are visible, then 10 to 12 are possible counting those not showing. Jk may have 10-pack abs at the minimum unless he is the rare case whose genetics

There is an attendant conversation to be had about body fat percentage as a major consideration. Perhaps if he dropped below the 9-10% body fat level it would be easier to visualize, But then we risk losing what is known in medical circles as "soft Kookie goodness"
