During times of war, it's important to be aware of War Propaganda. Let's look at an example.
Back in 1990, in order to justify attacking Iraq, a fake witness named Nayirah was brought in front of Congress. She told the world that the Iraqi military was "taking Kuwaiti babies out…
We could also look at the infamous case of the non-existent "weapons of mass destruction" that led to the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
Or we could go back to Germans being accused of mass rapes/executions of Belgians in WWI, which even Britain now admits was "atrocity propaganda".

I mean, even if this is not true, we've already seen videos of horrible tragedies already perpetrated against Israelis and Palestinians

The truth is many private citizens and most in media want “to be fooled”.
It’s all the plausible deniability they need to be the catalyst for enacting their most bloodthirsty of desires.

Not sure such an attrocity was needed. They just needed to remind the american populace of what gas lines at petrol stations looked like.

The Gulf War had an easy justification though, I would ask, why go through the effort? This may just be a broader problem with elections of the democratic system, constantly needing justifications for your wars by greater purposes to secure more votes and maintain power.

If we want to talk about propaganda, we need not go back that far.
