Wow, he is really good at communicating economics. The whole thread is amazing. Take-away: the only way to get Americans to buy American made instead of imports is for the price of the imports to rise so high that the higher-priced American product is the better deal.

At the moment, we don't know how much prices will go up as a result of tariffs. There are a lot of conditionals. But if the goal is raise the cost of imports so that people are encouraged to buy American-made goods, I want to tell you a story. 🧵
