Samantha Fulnecky admitted that she didn't really read the article she was supposed to be responding to and just threw something together in 30 minutes.
The University of Oklahoma confirms that Mel Curth, the teaching assistant who gave a student a failing grade on a psychology essay, will no longer be teaching.

Walters was one of the first people Fulnecky contacted after she got a bad grade.

(Also, Fulnecky's essay was a rant about trans people when the paper she was supposed to read and react to was... not at all about trans people. Further proof she just really didn't read it.)

@ParkerMolloy It was obvious she didn't read it because if she had, she could have made the same "opining" she did in her essay while actually entailing and engaging with the research study they were supposed to be learning about.

@iamzheanna Exactly! Also, she seems to think the paper she was supposed to read was about trans issues, but it just... wasn't. I read it.

@ParkerMolloy *student writes a terrible essay with no sources or fact checking, lets fire the TA!* Oklahoma earns their spot in the education rankings

@ParkerMolloy Only in America can giving someone a bad grade be grounds for termination. Next thing you know, participation trophies will be mandatory for grad school and adults will be competing for gold star stickers in the office.

@ParkerMolloy If she passed that student for writing that essay, the whole programme would have zero legitimacy.

@ParkerMolloy Yes. This was the most brutal part about the jeezus participation trophy. You could take one look at the first paragraph of the article and see she didn’t even peep it at all. Just another trans smear campaign.

@ParkerMolloy i'm sorry but admitting you didn't read it and rushed it kinda ends the debate right there. if my future man ever brings me this kind of effort while not matching what i'm putting in, he's getting a failing grade just like she did

@ParkerMolloy She did not say she didn’t read the article. She literally said she read it and the topic was easy for her to respond.

@ParkerMolloy If the phrase "because the bible tells me so" is enough to pass a psychology class at your university, I have questions about the overall academic standards at OU and the value of those degrees. Oklahoma's really working hard for the 50th rank in education lol

@ParkerMolloy What does that have to do with whether or not the teacher's assistant arbitrarily graded the papers turned in for this assignment based on his own personal bias?
