Imagine trying to describe the ground/going description to someone not involved in racing
It’s good to soft officially
But the jockeys said it’s quicker
But the times suggest it’s slower
But this track often rides quicker
And autumn G/S is different to spring G/S
Farcical

1 The main players really need to get their heads together and realise they all have a responsibility to the sport. Trainers shouldn’t feel forced to run horses on what they feel is unsuitable ground but if that’s the case then the tracks are obvs not being honest about the going
@OverandClear
2 either way something needs to change because from the outside in a sport that’s already under severe pressure due to field sizes looks ever more fragile when tracks describe as one thing yet main players aren’t happy
@OverandClear
3 add in an undertone from 2 major players of a regular concern with the ground at Ascot which is a premier track and it doesn’t make good reading, especially when you’re hoping for high quality, competitive Saturday action in mid November
