Just learned that Dart may start using Unicode's ICU4X Rust library in the future ( https://t.co/lc4PiiLVsa). This would mean it could leverage all the localization work that has already been done by Unicode and not maintain everything on its own. Amazing stuff, see more below

There's a draft PR in the newly created Dart i18n repository with a prototype of ICU4X integration. Please have a look and share your thoughts with the Dart team, they are looking for the feedback

This is for Dart only at the moment, but it might be used by Flutter in the future. Can't wait for it to mature, but there are still some unsolved challenges, like tree shaking Rust libraries in Dart build pipeline. Cool work by Dart team incoming!
