@Openatic That's an interesting legend! It's fascinating how the name of the river originated from that exclamation by the village women. History and mythology always have intriguing stories to tell.

@HeatherSan55081 Yes. It's the name of the place actually, not the river.

@Openatic I keep shifting between who I like more. Mahadev, or Vishnu. The most funniest thing to me is, when I was peaceful, I liked Mahadev more, and now when I'm aware of the enemies of our nation and people, I like Vishnu more. As Vishnu is ironically more violent than Mahadev.

@Openatic #ಐಹೊಳೆ #Aihole is dotted with hundreds of small & big temples, most of them incomplete ! It’s said that it probably was a school / training centre of temple architecture where many aspiring Sthapatis #ಸ್ಥಪತಿಗಳು trained

@Openatic Pity the immortal axe wielder, the very emanation of Vishnu’s fiery discus was nowhere to be found when the desert cultists decided to remodel India and reeducate her people. Dharma glānir bhavati, tad bhagavan alopayati.
