Anyone who complains about this stuff doesnβt actually go to conventions.
Why would the beloved character known for running around and doing hijinks at multiple different cons suddenly have a real gun are we being serious here or just complaining for attention???

Iβve thought about this a little bit more and I think I can understand why this could present a dangerous situation for con-goers or emergency services. I think there was a level of con mismanagement that led to this being bigger than it needed to be

I should add that I donβt think we should be attacking this guy or anyone involved in this situation. I think we should be focused on discussing whether props like this should even be allowed at cons which according to FWAβs policy it probably should not have even though they did
@sammyfranziska
I kind of understand the angle people are coming from but in this case it doesnβt make any sense. You could see in the end of one the videos someone took him literally giving the gun back to the original guy I just hate this constant outrage posting lol
@ObservantJefe
I think itβs more the angle of what if normies saw it who didnβt know or staff just walking in. At first glance youβre like umm what and then see him taking aim and youβre like oh no.
So I think thatβs why some are upset.

I get the meme and the antics were great.
But i also get the whole βplease no prop gunsβ stuff in an era where just about every con gets a mass shooter threat.
Like imma just say it was still a miss thats being blown out of proportion by dudes with fomo.

@bluecoyote
I think it is a valid concern for emergency services especially in an active situation it would cause severe confusion I imagine but I donβt think a lot of these people are arguing in that way. I also think this prop broke policy technically according to the way it written
@ObservantJefe
Iβm assuming youβve never had a shooting threat to your school. Or at an event youβve attended. Or in your own home.
If you see a gun at a large event like this and cannot tell if itβs fake or not there is a problem. It can cause people to panic. It makes people uncomfortable.β¦

@SpicyBeetle_
There was an incident where someone brought a gun to my high school and we went on lockdown. Thankfully they didnβt intend to shoot anyone there but I know how much of an issue it is America. I understand the dangers of firearms and I own a few of them
@ObservantJefe
If they had their way, conventions would become boring, drab, and most cosplay would be censored or banned for being problematic.
I wanna see funny people dress up with everything they got, using every creative muscle they got. I want to see the movie and game references peopleβ¦

I think this is a great time for everyone to reconsider who this "beloved character" is and realize they're just an anti-fur op and they've been laughing at all of us for their successful infiltration.
like rly??? can we rethink giving this guy a stage to get the attention heβs obsessed with at furry cons when he uhhhhh seems to just make fun of furries and also have a separate bit where he jokes about being a Spanish colonizer?? (this is the Bomb Voyage guy)
@ObservantJefe
It was one of those moments where I knew someone was going to get upset about it online, but as someone who was there in person (plus it's Bomb Voyage) I enjoyed the laugh.
I don't take anything the dude does seriously lol.
@ObservantJefe
Just put a brightly coloured 3d printed barrel sheath on it.
I will give some credit that the tip is real small so at a distance you can't see it.
I think the outrage is overblown but he solution is compromise and just make it more evident it's fake.
