I’m ever so grateful for the opportunities and experience the people at Hexany have given me, but I’m also very excited to see what the next chapter brings.

But after 7 years, I’ve decided it’s time for me to shake things up a bit, take a little break, and then branch into doing more independent work on freelance and personal projects (some of which will likely include some contract work with Hexany).

Over seven years ago I miraculously landed a job as a composer at Hexany audio. It was a life-changing bit of luck for me in that I got to make music full time for video games at a stable in-house position. It was a dream gig come true…

So in response to the violence, some of the staff at the summer camp Skogfjorden came together to make a song in memory of those lost that day, using text from Alfred Tennyson's In Memoriam. I made a lyric video here:

I’ve never known what to do in the face of so much hatred of people on the basis of having a different background, ethnicity, culture, gender, or language than you. It’s something that makes very little sense to me.

This horrendous attack was carried out by a deeply anti-immigrant white supremacist extremist who wanted to damage the Labour Party which holds the stance that Norway should receive and protect refugees and asylum seekers.

On the 22nd of July, 2011 there was a bombing in Oslo, Norway as well as a mass shooting on Utøya at an Arbeidernes ungdomsfylking (Worker’s Youth League) summer camp. A total of 77 people were killed, 69 of them on Utøya alone. Many of these victims were teenagers.
