OSU is a forum for all Ophthalmologists(eye specialists) in Uganda. Its aimed at ensuring quality eye care delivery through research, training and subspecialty.

The LRRH team was led by Dr. Shamiim Namwase & @RuharoHospital team led by Dr.Pius Mwanja. The training was held at Lira RRH & supported by Seva foundation. The sessions were facilitated by Dr. Tamara a vitreo-retinal surgeon from Malawi @MinofHealthUG @JaneRuth_Aceng.

Yesterday marked the beginning of a significant milestone in eye health in Uganda, as teams from Lira Regional Referral Hospital and Ruharo Mission Hospital convened for a collaborative 2 days training on the deployment and use of the state-of-the-art Pristine Fundus Camera 5.0

Dr Arunga’s Eye Hospital in collaboration with the ophthalmology, society of Uganda and Ajanta Pharmaceuticals have completed an introductory course for select ophthalmologists in Uganda in phacoemulsification computerized cataract surgery.

The WestNile Surgical Camp is on-going in Adjumani, Nebbi and Arua. So far, the Arua team has screened 705 patients, of whom 156 will have cataract surgery, 252 have recieved medications and 163 readers dispensed. All are free Thank you @EyeMengo @cbmIEH Ug @MinofHealthUG #SDG3.
