@OPP_HSD If people were properly trained and obeyed a few simple driving tenets, 130km/hr would not be unreasonable and 150km/hr would, at least, not always be terribly unsafe. Low limits to compensate for low competency is the wrong approach.

@OPP_HSD “Street racing”. Lol ok. Were they actually racing or just going 50 over the limit while everyone else on the highway goes 30 over? Let’s be honest here. Speed limits are ignored by 95% of the road going public.

@OPP_HSD In 97 I was part of a police volunteer program. Returning from a police event in Belleville in unmarked NRP crown vic cruiser. Officer driving was doing 180km+ per hrs on 401. We still see cops speeding today for no reason. Civilians see it. Just being respectfully honest.

@OPP_HSD Would be interested to know how long some of the drivers 18 and up have actually had a driver license in Ontario. Another thought, maybe bringing back photo radar, with hefty fines, loss of demerit points and impounding would slow down some of these drivers..
