Edge-of-the-seat talk today by @staci_bilbo. I felt carried along from the beginning to the very end — a riveting story!

In fact, his talk reminded me of Edward Tufte's quote on PP: PowerPoint becomes ugly and inaccurate because our thoughts are foolish, but the slovenliness of PowerPoint makes it easier for us to have foolish thoughts.

Today at MINDS, @uvaneuro seminar series for PhD students, I listened raptly as my PI gave a sample chalk-talk. It was quite good! Compared to PP, chalk-talk makes your presentation more contemplative and analytical.

As a trainee, I find this quote by Ernest Hemmingway very comforting: There are some things which cannot be learned quickly, and time, which is all we have, must be paid heavily for their acquiring.

I feel fortunate this week! First, I had an insightful conversation with @FChrisBennett before his phenomenal talk @UVA_MIC , and secondly a very stimulating chat with @stevensrehen.on the second day of the #BIGNeuroRetreat19, and thirdly, I had some FUN at the retreat.

Wow! IBRO/ISN school at UNILAG, my alma mater, that’s amazing!.
