i don't think female characters in comics having children / getting pregnant is inherently bad, i think people get upset because more often than not they start being defined by motherhood or only revolve around their child(dren)

I feel like people think a female character having a kid is regressive and inherently bad now in a way that feels weird. Like idk it depends.

does the author hate the character? or do you hate the character because you’re actually invested in the fanfic version you’ve made up in your head & you’re lashing out when canon doesn’t match up?

me watching female characters get hate for having traits that would be loved in a male character

90s Catwoman: I am a BAD GIRL and I HATE EVERYONE, I am a loner and my tough reputation is important 😤 90s Catwoman as soon as she hears a child call for help:

This is such a misogynistic double standard. Male characters are praised for letting relationships influence their growth, but when a female character does the same it’s suddenly “bad writing.” Ochako’s motivations didn’t disappear, they expanded and grew with her character.
@puppyochako @pilowerrift @bkgontop Ochako went from "I want to be a hero to help my family out of debt" to "omg Deku this! Deku that!" Also a mutual pointed this out, Ochako only likes Deku as the hero Deku, Katsuki learned to accept IZUKU as Izuku, not Deku.
