I’m no longer accepting male clients. They get in my email inbox and want me to prove why they should choose me as a therapist.
No scheduled consultations or nothing to see if we are a good fit. I’m not the 1 or the 2 to prove my worth to anyone.
We would not work well…
It’s the folks tone policing me. I tweet like I talk. I talk this way in therapy with my clients.
That’s the whole point of being a Black therapist. So Black folks can be themselves. Ain’t no code switching over here!

Not a therapist but I stopped taking on male clients years ago. They’re always trying to get over and make you prove yourself! Like sir, you hired ME? You did good setting this boundary.
@NicoleLewisLCSW
Y’all really need to stop getting on the internet talking like this. Journal or save these thoughts for your own therapist.
My therapist is a black woman, best I’ve ever had, but the way some of you get on here talking I’d miss out on her if I let the tweets cloud my judgment.
@NicoleLewisLCSW
Sis! Set your boundaries & stand on them. What a lot of people don’t know is that their assumptions of you based off of this tweet are based in projection and their own personal lived/experiences. You have a right to protect yourself! Happy for you. Sending loveeee!
