Funny, I thought the 18 months we spent in various forms of lockdown was for govts to prepare systems of testing, tracing, treatment, etc.
But no: suddenly it’s every person for themselves.
One of the many collateral effects of the collapse of testing/tracing is that it also cripples the disaster relief payment system. And with no JobKeeper anymore…

It’s like using a dam to prevent flooding, but never bothering to build levee banks for future preparedness. We’ve squandered our time with low cases that we could have used to improve our systems. Happy to rest on our laurels of the first 2 years. We truly are The Lucky Country.

Good question though for Scott and co. What were they doing the past 18 months because clearly it was not planning or creating risk mitigation strategies or to look after the citizens of Australia. Seriously? What do they do?

No but Morrison has built a cubby, decorated his house with xmas lights, made a few curries, went swimming in a pool , went to cricket, football and maybe a holiday in between. How GOOD IS THAT !!

Actual federal leadership would have involved the fed govt asking the states “what do you need to open up?” Over the last 12 months. And making plans accordingly. Not… whatever this is.
