Taylor Swift has done wonders for the NFL bringing more eyes to the sport, but the NFL and Travis Kelce have also done something major. Humanized her even more.
this would make sense if this was posted after Midnights. but TTPD houses what quite literally is some of her best work and y’all have been brainwashed by out-of-context hate tweets.

i guess because it’s a super nostalgic song for me but there’s just something about the melody too that gives like major end-of-party vibes if you understand what i mean

It was actually more of a “social experiment”. She wanted to show the world how people react to celebrity deaths (mainly deaths of blonde women who are celebrities). She’s limping & bleeding & eventually hung & yet the audience STILL cheers for it.
‘INSIDE OUT 2’ will reportedly feature Anxiety, Embarrassment, Ennui and Envy as the new emotions in Riley’s head.

the stage: Gaga said that it was inspired by brutalist architecture & a certain building that comes to mind is the Salk Institute in California (notice the concrete paneling). it’s also VERY reminiscent to Micheal Jackson’s History Tour. Micheal was a huge inspiration of Gaga’s.
once the lights go on on the stage, a snippet of Fugue no.24 in B minor is played right before Bad Romance starts, which is in direct reference to the Bad Romance music video:
the pre-show visuals are also reminiscent of 2 things:
1. the side screens are incredibly similar to Bundeskanzleramt in Berlin with their circular window frames.
2. the main screens are also reminiscent of the background to the famous Last Supper painting by Leonardo da Vinci.
the silhouette scene was very clearly inspired by the City Interlude from Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour. the arm prosthetics are also a callback to a 2009 X Factor performance of Bad Romance, although this time i see the prosthetics as a representation of her fibromyalgia pain…
Gaga’s outfit and mannerisms during the prologue seem to be very similar to dadaism. dadaists were artists that made art in reaction to the absurdity of war and made sense of brutality through art.
this outfit featured in act iii resembles an outfit worn by ballroom scene pioneer Pepper LaBeija in the film Paris Is Burning. she name-dropped this film while performing Babylon in Paris!
this might be a stretch but Gaga’s visor during Bad Romance is very reminiscent of the metal plate drilled into the head of this girl in the film Martys. the character in particular has been put through so much torture that she lives in a state between life and death…
oh my goodness i completely forgot! someone who worked on the show did an interview on it (which i can’t find) and mentioned that Gaga wanted flamethrowers similar to ones used at Rammstein concerts!
speaking of her outfit and mannerisms, she seems to also be paying homage to Klaus Nomi, a queer artist from the lower east side of new york who’s worked with David Bowie, Gaga’s main inspiration.
during the last chorus of Poker Face, the side screens show a digital sculpture of Gaga that was made by Nick Knight in 2010 which was most prominently used during her 2010 Brit Awards performance.
her act i outfit seems to be inspired by the creatures in the video game Silent Hill (which Gaga has implied the Chromatica Ball is somewhat inspired by). in the video game, Slient Hill is a city that reflects the inner demons & life traumas of the characters that dwell in it.
the Tamara film, as the name suggests, is a tribute to Polish painter Tamara de Lempicka who was best known for her “polished Art Deco portraits of aristocrats and the wealthy”.
@TealSlut
her when she thinks she’s going to some fancy ballroom only to arrive at a huge stadium with a giant billboard with the words “LADY GAGA: THE BORN THIS WAY BALL” on it
let’s talk about the opening film! the film as a whole, according to Gagapedia, was inspired by The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch which has been interpreted as a “warning to the dangers of life’s temptations”
The Last Supper is a painting known for its “display of human emotion”. Gaga having her backdrop basically be the Last Supper without the people, it almost feels soulless & empty, as if it’s missing something. this could be a metaphor for her mental state while writing Chromatica
the backdrop during Telephone has these these oddly shaped alien-like pipes, which seems to be inspired by the work of H.R. Giger, made famous in the film “Alien”. his work also inspired much of Chromatica’s aesthetic!
the last two references are callbacks to the Chromatica album photoshoot done in 2020. during Shallow, she wears the Chromataphore headpiece by Xtian de Medici. during Hold My Hand, she wears a mechanical claw by Gary Fay Creations!
the choreography during Monster, especially towards the end of the bridge where she’s being eaten alive before jumping out with something new on her, is a very clear reference to the Monster Ball Tour!
some of her dancers’ headpieces in act iii are inspired by her Nasir Mazhar orbit headpiece, which was given to her by Nicola Formichetti back in 2009 when they first met!
