This barely made the news, but the severely gerrymandered Congressional maps in North Carolina have been rejected by the state's Supreme Court and must be redrawn to reflect demographic facts on the ground in the Tarheel State.
In North Carolina they have a state law that specifically orders both Congressional and state legislative maps to be drawn fairly.
The state is literally 50/50 Republican versus Democrat, but somehow the initial proposed Congressional delegation was 10-3, R vs. D.

Well, yes.
The judges have to be satisfied that their orders were carried out. And to that end, they've also delayed legislative and Congressional campaigns in the state until the matter is resolved, pending the formation of new boundaries at both levels.
