Mutual aid is a radical act of care, love, and resistance that has long been present within movement spaces. Check out this writing by @FelipeMesel, @MChiponda, @EmeseIlyes and Antonio Gutierrez on the use of mutual aid by communities across the world in the face of COVID-19.
Mutual aid movements swelled to meet the challenges created by COVID-19. But, like fungal networks sustaining a forest, these movements pre-date and will outlast the pandemic.

The JLI was founded by former jailhouse lawyer @jhody_polk who has built a national network of 500+ current & former incarcerated advocates in 48 states & P.R. Together this movement is working to ensure everyone in prison can understand, use, & shape the laws that impact them.
