BREAKING: Governor Kevin Stitt says in a statement that he will grant clemency for Julius Jones.
He will be commuting Jones’ sentence to life without the possibility of parole.
The Muscogee (Creek) Nation plans to file a federal lawsuit challenging tax laws in Oklahoma. The tribe said because of the Supreme Court's McGirt ruling, the state can’t collect taxes from tribal members who live and work on the tribe's land.

In a 42-2 vote, the state Senate passed House Bill 1955 to eliminate the 4.5% state tax levied on groceries on Thursday. The bill still needs to be signed by Gov. Kevin Stitt to take effect.
