If I’m being honest work/life balance is a myth. There is work & there is personal life. At times work will take precedence & many times, you’ll have to be transparent & let your teams & leadership know family is the focus. It’s all about prioritization & doing what makes sense.

Encourage women by building them up, providing visibility & opportunities intentionally. Ask women on your teams to speak up & ensure it’s a safe environment to do so. Encourage diverse perspectives & an inclusive workplace where all viewpoints are valued & not simply tolerated.

Women are powerful beyond measure and can do anything we put our minds to. When women have a seat the table, we provide inclusive and diverse viewpoints that drive business growth. Let’s continue to leverage our responsibility to speak and make meaningful change in all fields.

Building relationships is so important for both personal & professional reasons. At work you need a trusted confidant who you can bounce ideas off of, ideate & even sometimes vent. I’ve made some of my closest friends @att. Shout out to @terronjernigan who is one of those people!

I found my mentors by doing great work, leveraging existing relationships &putting myself out there! I’ve learned people genuinely want to help & invest in your development. Don’t be afraid to reach out! Shout out @marvymoore, @shelleygoodman, @carafields & @celeste to name a few

Execute the 4P’s. Prepare, Perform, Pivot& Persevere. Prepare to pave your path by identifying where you want to be & how you intend to get there. Performance is table stakes, always be at the top of your game! Be adaptable & pivot. Lastly don’t get discouraged and NEVER give up!

I suggest joining professional organizations & networking groups as well as building strong relationships with individuals who have diverse backgrounds and perspectives to broaden their network and create opportunities.
