That’s crazy how my brother literally was talking about this Reddit post from years ago that he read in actual Reddit & here it is on my timeline on X
@MomsPostingLs
I feel for this guy. I went thru somethin similar. She’s takin him for granted, obv. But still it’s selfish to think of your own feelings over the kid’s, to not account for her abandonment wound and how powerful it is. Talk to her about it privately. Don’t “get revenge” in public

No real man takes care of someone else's kids.
Marry a worn out woman with a kid that isn't yours? Are you F'ing kidding me?
If you DO somehow want to be with a single Mom, you make it disown the child to an orphanage.
NO MAN SHOULD EVER BECOME AN UNPAID BABYSITTER.
@MomsPostingLs
I totally don't get what's happening here. The real dad showed up at the toast, but what does the kid mean when he says "he's giving her away"
@MomsPostingLs
I wouldn't. People change over time and as they get more comfortable they will take you for granted. Not all cases are this screwed up but it's not worth the risk. It's far less likely if you share the same DNA.
@MomsPostingLs
Never, absolutely not. If you already have children of your own fine make a Brady Bunch but if you do enter a relationship where you do not have children and the other party does you are subject to getting used as a resource.

Was a Step-parent for ten years as well, Father was a good enough guy but not super involved. I did the work, he got to be the "cool parent". As others have said, it's a thankless job but I relished having a family and being a parent, was the best thing I have ever done.
