Joined July 2018
Fun time of year! Prospective graduate students are visiting various places and trying to find their best fit. This thread will compile a non-exhaustive list of @MolBiophysUTSW labs eager to host rotation students. Visiting students - we are here to help, don't be shy!

👇👇👇 In the "Alumni doing well" category, check out this awesome news about @MolBiophysUTSW graduate @DrJuanLMendoza - Freeman Hrabowkski Scholar @HHMINEWS. YOWSA! Way to go Juan, hopefully we can get you back for a visit before too long.
Thank you, Leslie and everyone at HHMI. I can’t express how grateful I am to be part of this outstanding group of scientists. With the support of HHMI, we can focus on our science but also make an impact in mentoring to lift us all up. Congrats to all the FHScholars!

Great to see another paper from an @MolBiophysUTSW student. Congrats to all 👏
We tried to figure out how one of the proteases from SARS-CoV-2 recognizes ubiquitination and ISGylation and actually put together a pretty interesting story about that. I hope you'll like it. @JoachimiakL

Nice commentary about how to choose a good problem (how to think about it, what to optimize at different career stages, importance of self-expression, hard does not mean interesting, etc). Worth a read :-)

Congratulations to recently-defended @MolBiophysUTSW student Yang Liu (mentor: @XiaochunLi2), who represented our program in the annual Nominata Award competition. Yang won a Dean's Discretionary Award in recognition of his achievements. Way to go Yang!

Love to see this - @dvlagasca passing her quals, and @__ariinthelab showing the team spirit that makes @MolBiophysUTSW and @UTSWGradSchool special. Two thumbs up :-)
Congrats to my @MolBiophysUTSW little sib @dvlagasca for passing quals!!! I thought passing my qualifying exam was a great feeling but now I get to see my younger MB friends succeed and it’s somehow just as good if not better 🥲❤️

Awww yeah! Nice work from @MolBiophysUTSW faculty member @erzbergerlab, led by recently graduated @MolBiophysUTSW student @SekulskiKamil.
Researchers from @erzbergerlab, @biophysics_utsw, @MolBiophysUTSW, including @victor_ecr and @sekulskikamil, report insights into the roles of rRNA methylation and GTPase Nog2 in 60S biogenesis. #ribosome, #RNA, #CryoEM

Luke Rice's lab says come join our team! We use a multidisciplinary approach to discover fundamental mechanisms of Microtubule dynamics and regulation. Numerous opportunities to contribute 😃 https://t.co/RLz9Lz1tHB Hoping to host rotation students, summer is a possibility.
