I usually start with a rough layout and just... animate it, shot by shot. no blocking, no deep planning. Things keep changing, versions keep evolving. Too smooth? Too even? I don't care, I like it ๐ No lead feedback, no judgment, just doing it my way. And itโs really fun!

@maelwiggin Blocking is a good thing! I think it's a must do. Usually, I do that in a job to see full pictures, but when I do stuff on my own, I just wanna explore stuff and just right down polish it. It's more of a ... "from very rough to constantly progressing without thinking." ๐

@MochiAnimator Looks amazing ๐, Is this blender? And at what point do you use the cubes to represent your sequence?

@P1zdatyi I use Maya for this, the cube is just to do early timing and action ideas, but mostly for me is to set up the camera animation and everything before I start posing the characters๐

@MochiAnimator I wonder if you animate your fav seqs first, polishing things that need fixing. Iโve learned how to do blocking In 3d but the moment it hits spline, timing feels so hard xโD

@Cruddiearts I just do it in order. After all these rough layouts are done, I just start animating and polish upshot by shot straight ahead! But I think changing timing in blocking or in early spline is better than my "go full polish" method Changing stuff after polish is a pain ๐

@MochiAnimator I love the face dynamics besides the facial acting. It adds so much to the characters!

@MochiAnimator HOLYYYYY this is amazing. The choice to have the hair and chain be pulled down by gravity when the time freeze is over is such a great detail. Masterful work

@MochiAnimator People like to make rules people must follow in almost every industry. There are no rules, only what works for you.
