And because a few have commented, no, I personally never needed it. I grew up on a small farm, and my mom sent me to school with LITERALLY one of those big grocery bags for lunch, enough to feed a small pony. And yes, I shared, that's what I was taught.

And to add yet another point? I am a cook. Do you have any IDEA how much food restaurants throw away because we are literally not allowed to donate it? And before anyone starts, NO, there is NOTHING wrong with accepting food from a reputable place to feed kids. PERIOD.

And because sometimes tweets like the above kinda somehow take on a life of their own? Yea...I've been in jail. The food SUCKS...But BY LAW, it has the nutrients needed to keep from starving. YES, THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS by corrupt people. GOD I resent having to put that at the end

@Mitumba10 @MarySiverson The Board of Education in my district passed a resolution that no student goes hungry for breakfast or lunch. Food is served, they attempt to collect from the parents, & the Board covers any outstanding tabs. This should be the rule everywhere.

Many times the fee was less than $5! It's cruel & shames kids.
