To soften the blow of defeat Fox's Geraldo proposes naming the vaccine after Trump. "It would be a nice gesture to him and years from now it would become kind of a generic name. Have you got your trump yet, I got my trump, I'm fine. I wished we could honor him in that way."
Does anyone know if there’s a movie coming out called The Lost City with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum and if so will there be any advertising for it
Hi everybody! A lot has been written that we can’t really comment on, but to be clear we’re still very much trying to
#SaveODAAT
Your support continues to be amazing 😊♥️💪 Thank you!
A TV lesson: my first writing job was for a cool MTV show and we shared a floor with a kids’ show. We made fun of it amongst ourselves because we thought we were the shit. We were cancelled after 1 season and the kids’ show lasted many, became beloved, and was called Blue’s Clues
a short 🧵!
Back in May, when it became clear we were going on strike, I got real sad. Because I remembered the last strike.
How the AMPTP plan to play unions against each other worked. How the picket lines swelled at first but after a few weeks, thinned out.
Not this time.
Well it's been a day. I'm tweeting this picture of
@Isabella_Gomez
in her usual perch on stage under the assistant director's podium because it makes me happy. Thank you everybody for the love and support. Oh and
#SaveODAAT
When people wonder why you need unions, remember it’s because they’re forced to fight tooth and nail to get companies to provide workers with things you might normally think of as “basic human decency”

“martin short isn’t funny” doesn’t need argument because it’s not even a thing, it’s like someone saying “the sun isn’t hot!” You just smile at the person and hope they get the help they need
If you're keeping score:
Last strike they said we can’t pay you for streaming 'cause there’s no money in it. After the strike ended, they launched Hulu.
This strike they’re saying we can’t pay you for streaming 'cause there’s no money in it and Hulu is worth 30 billion dollars
Hulu Stake Sale Timeline Moved Up To September, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts Reveals; Valuation For "Scarce, Kingmaker Asset" Likely To Far Exceed Initial $27.5B Benchmark

Hey instead of telling everybody Covid is nothing to worry about, then getting Covid, then apologizing for not taking it seriously, how about just shutting the fuck up then and now
short 🧵
it’s quite possible that later today the CEOs will flee the talks with a take it or leave it statement like “we’ve given the WGA an historic offer, it’s time to end this destructive strike” (they’ll leave out that they could’ve made this offer 5 months ago)
I really really really hope
#Brooklyn99
continues somewhere and for that matter that each episode should be hand-delivered on DVD to every American IT'S THAT GOOD PEOPLE
#RenewB99
Here we have a CEO worth a minimum of 30 million dollars attempting to shame a union guy making 190k for being paid too much - just an interesting dynamic that I’m sure is a one time thing we won’t see again in the next couple of months
Damn. Teamsters President Sean O'Brien called Republican Sen. Markwayne Mullin a "greedy CEO" after Mullin went after him during a very heated exchange during a congressional hearing.
A year ago
@OneDayAtATime
was cancelled. Now we premiere a week from Tuesday. That’s pretty freaking amazing.
I’m very grateful to be back with our familia and can’t wait for you to be back with them too (Mar 24 on

Abbott Elementary followed up one of the best comedy pilots in years with an equally great 2nd episode, which is basically impossible, so while I’m a giant fan for life I would also like to extend a tiny professionally-jealous fu to all involved, CONGRATS
A guy I know was in the hospital for the last month with Covid, just got out and is now back posting 9/11 conspiracies on his Facebook page so you know what guys, life finds a way
@ashleyn1cole
Plus when you wrote on a hit back then you knew it, because of Nielsen ratings. But streaming services don’t share their data so you have far less leverage to negotiate. They can tell you whatever they want about how your show is doing!
...that one CBS repeat of one episode of ODAAT paid me roughly the same as I've been paid IN TOTAL for one episode of ODAAT streaming on Netflix 24/7 for the last 4-6 YEARS 😵💫
In other words, 1 network repeat residual = 5 years of streaming residuals
This is why we're on strike
It’s kind of a weird thrill to watch my kids discover how perfectly wrong and terrible Rick Santorum is, like when I played them the Beatles for the first time except the exact opposite
Charming, civil, educated response.
@Sethrogen
If you’re a rich, angry Hollywood celebrity, today’s Dems are the party for you.
If you’re blue-collar, if you’re a union member, if you work in energy or manufacturing...not so much.

I know we have a deal to look at, I know there’s ratifying to be done, but I’m celebrating what we can celebrate: a victory for collective action, a victory that is, to use the word properly for the first time in 5 months: historic.
Thank you
@WGAWest
@WGAEast
💪💪💪💪
Important fact getting lost in the fog of war, people are like “why doesn’t the WGA counteroffer?”
We did. In fact, it only took us 4 days after the AMPTP’s first offer.
But the AMPTP ignored it.
We are negotiating. Are they?
It's helpful to remember a little history: the DGA tried bargaining back in Feb and got nowhere.
So they called it off. Then they went back to bargaining once they had the leverage of writers on the picket lines.
The headline on their deal right now should be "Strikes Work"
Just a few months ago
@OneDayAtATime
was dead.
Now our first table read of the season is Wednesday.
I still can’t believe it. So grateful. It’s the end of pre-production and while we have a ton of work ahead, we also DID a ton of work, so I’m tweeting a thread of appreciation:
This time was different.
This time we were led by a new generation (along with plenty of oldheads and middle aged heads) who understand what it means to be a union, who fought together to the bitter end.
Even when the bitter end happened 3 or 4 times.
Owners of the Radford Studio Center, a.k.a as the CBS Studio Center, have unveiled revamp plans — an estimated $1 billion for modern sound stages, offices, sustainability measures, historic preservation and a transportation infrastructure
Just caught up on a certain show and look I love many comedies and use various adjectives to describe them but

Our outstanding leadership, empowered by the fierce solidarity of our membership, made this deal happen when the companies swore it would not and threw all their might into not just screwing us, but breaking us.
It didn’t happen, because collectively we said: not this time.
hahahaha this is the same shit they tried to pull 15 years ago when we asked for jurisdiction over this crazy futuristic thing that they said it was too soon to talk about called “the internet”
