I can’t understand Knicks fans defending thibs w/ this obi stuff.
Lottery picks being busts. I get it. It happens.
But lottery picks never given a chance? Hard to explain.
He played well in limited time. Not saying he’s a star. But the Knicks stunted his career.
@MikeDeliversPod
See the problem is the team overachieved with Julius and then Julius turned into a MIP, ALLSTAR,ALLNBA PLAYER. Let keep it real Julius was the 7th pick when he was drafted so it’s not like some unknown was out shinning Obi. Obi had more than enough chances to take that spot!
@MikeDeliversPod
I agree with everything except the Knicks stunting his career, if anything they jerked themselves for not trading him sooner for more. Them letting him go for nothing on contract season is giving him the chance to make that check on a team who’s going to play him.
@MikeDeliversPod
If he’s not a star how was he stunted ? They watched him practice everyday I hope obi plays for 10 years but he’s never gonna be as good as randle is ever
@MikeDeliversPod
Knicks didn’t stunt his career nor was it Thibs fault. It was just a bad situation.. They didn’t expect Randle to be MIP and become an all nba player. What could they do?
@MikeDeliversPod
Julius Randle became a 2X all-star and 2X all-nba player. You don’t sit him to “develop” someone.
I can’t understand knick fans who don’t see that.
“Not saying he’s a star…” but Julius Randle is.
@MikeDeliversPod
They should have never picked him. Haliburton was the logical choice there.
After they picked him they should have found a spot for him.
He is a Stretch 4 that wasn't developed.
@MikeDeliversPod
🎯
The whole thing didn’t make sense. Why not trade him sooner when it was cost they were sticking with Randle? Why draft him over players who play positions if greater need. Weird.
@MikeDeliversPod
If you are the coach & have an all nba PF, show me the path to playing Obi significant minutes & having a successful team?
