Comms Director for @WADNR. Very fond of @LaurenMcGowan. Glad that a word like KALSARIKÄNNIT exists. I too have concepts of a plan. All opinions are mine.

I’m a dyed-in-the-wool New Yorker. But I can’t help rooting against the Yankees.

This is a really big day for the state and our forests. Incredibly proud to have lead the team that rolled out this announcement. More even prouder to be part of @waDNR and to work for @CPL_Dave! Now it’s time for the next steps to move our forests forward!
Today, I signed a Commissioner's Order to conserve 77,000 acres of structurally complex forests - including 100 percent of our older forests.

Imagine hating Big Bird and Mister Rogers and PBS Newshour this much. https://t.co/4LYEoDWooH

The company is among the first casualties of a vote to strip roughly $500 million in federal funding from NPR, PBS and local stations across the country.

Spot on @CPL_Dave. “We need to be preparing for the wildfire season that’s one sunny week away, not responding to a poorly written executive order that will put us all at risk.” https://t.co/IIXkigor4P

A draft executive order the White House is considering plans to overhaul how the nation fights wildfires by creating a new federal agency that prioritizes quickly putting out fires.

Also, if the "I have plane, will deport ppl" biz is so good, why hide it? "...crew members for these flights will wear a “generic uniform with no Avelo branding,” Goff said...In addition, the aircraft will be all white, with no Avelo regalia.

Well this deportation cash grab is certainly gross, @AveloAir. https://t.co/gIAUSCkKZ5

Thousands have pledged to boycott Avelo Airlines over its new deal with Homeland Security.

Look AI is coming for all of us who write, but it's not gonna kill our jobs dead with the em dash. I love that puncation mark and have (maybe over) used it for years. https://t.co/jsmGUoLmbx

Em dashes have been derided as the “ChatGPT hyphen” — a punctuation mark overused by artificial intelligence. That’s not quite true.

If this doesn't horrify you, if this doesn't show you the deep moral rot at the heart of the Trump administration, then I don't know what will. https://t.co/6WctRytu5K

What @CoryBooker is still doing right now is something good. More us of need to stand up and keeping standing. That is one way we start to push back. https://t.co/Qms04Mu0ZM

The New Jersey senator spent much of his speech, which ended after more than 25 hours, assailing the Trump administration. He eclipsed Strom Thurmond’s filibuster of a civil rights bill in 1957.

I just got the Wordle in one for the first time ever so I think I’m gonna take the rest of the day to celebrate. It’s the small things in life right now.

When we try to deport a legal resident for exercising their constitutional right to protest a war that has killed tens of thousands and displaced an entire people, we have lost ourselves. We are no longer the country we think we are. https://t.co/9fApqOP5xG

Mr. Khalil, who helped lead protests at Columbia University against civilian casualties in Gaza, was arrested by immigration officers and sent to a detention center in Louisiana.

Brings to mind this from Hitchhiker's Guide: "...the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (a mind-bogglingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can’t see it, it can’t see you—daft as a brush, but very very ravenous)"

They all think we're so blind we can't see the idiot in the tech support t-shirt behind the Resolute Desk.

It’s been exhausting watching us drop whatever scrap of moral leadership we had left this week, cutting funding to AIDS clinics and Ebola research and firing wildland firefighters. Capping it off with Trump and Vance walking away from being “leader of the free world” is gutting.

The treatment of these dedicated people is sickening. They are just trying to do a job. For you. And for me. I don't think we're going to like what happens when those responsible for food safety, medical research, environmental protection and more are done being purged.

If you like having clean air and water, thank a civil servant. If you like having safe food, thank a gov't employee. If you like that there are people ready to fight wildfires, thank a public worker. What Trump and Musk are doing is stupid and will hurt us. All of us.
