We are not called to put on our “best selves,” afraid of when the Lord will return. Rather, we are invited to live in the Kingdom now, a foretaste of what is to come fully. Same Gospel story, different way to look at it. #Catholic

I always enjoy this type of analysis. It shows how non-Catholic sources perceive Church messaging.

My story today in @NCRonline: A look at how local and major metro newspapers, as well as leading magazines like The New Yorker, are covering and opining on the Synod of Bishops on Synodality for readers who may not normally follow Catholic media. https://t.co/tXLQTdXgPW

In times past, they would lock the Cardinals in and limit food until the new pope was elected. Maybe our government can take the cue.

For my Intro to Judaism class today, you can guess what the first topic was. My teacher, who has a son living in #Israel, decided to begin class with this: https://t.co/YE79zHDRQw

Not one to attribute everything to providence, but to putting my only #LAAngels shirt on while it’s the feast day of the Archangels is funny. #CatholicTwitter

With the @Synod_va fast approaching, George and I did a deep dive on the documents. We did the reading so you don’t have to (tho probably should). #Synod #Synodality #CatholicTwitter https://t.co/ohSx01xoUn

In the wisdom of the @CatholicChurch, Doctors of the Church have the following reading for Evening Prayer. Theologians, apologists, ministers, let’s try to remember this: “Wisdom from above is first of all innocent. It is also peaceable, lenient, docile, rich in sympathy and

From Evening Prayer: “Let your Church be the sign of salvation” We can all agree that we don’t do the best job of this. May our bickering and polemics not distract from the main message here. #CatholicTwitter #Apostle

Can we all take a deep breathe and remember the #synod on #synodality is not a carte blanche, populous vote to decide Church doctrine?

I’ve never liked “God works in mysterious ways” yet subscribe to God as “incomprehensible mystery.” We spend our lives unwrapping the mystery through God’s self-communication, growing in our relationship. So maybe God works in “surprising ways” is better. #CatholicTwitter
