Each candidate requires 5000 citizen recommendations in order to qualify, that’s 490,000 recommendations. I highly doubt that the vast majority of those candidates were able to gather more than their family and friends’ recommendations, so where did the rest come from?

This happened as a result of controversial election laws, which grant the right to run for office even those who hold another nationality on the pretext that they are authorized by a certain authority, as well as those accused of crimes against Libyans in international courts ‼️
