@NYPDPC how is this acceptable? How do we get your officers to do their job? Your refusal to do basic enforcement is putting lives in danger.

Ridiculous that NYC looks like this. The NYPD is incapable of traffic/parking enforcement. Time for enforcement to be given back to the DOT and to introduce a citizen enforcement program.
This just might be the worst QUINTUPLE PARKING EVER! This biz frequently FULLY blocks sidewalks & #bikenyc lane. Not a good neighbor. WTF? @NYC_DOT @NYPDnews @NYPD115Pct @NYPD114Pct @StreetsblogNYC @OpenPlans @voteshekar @TransAlt @bikenewyork

Free childcare is coming to NYC Yes it's expensive but Mr. Mamdani can raise $5B/yr just from charging market prices for parking on 25% of NYC streets This solution to the "double parking crisis" would speed up buses *and* offset the city's cost for much of the childcare plan

Remember when a bunch of the worst people lost their minds because we instituted a toll to drive in the place that most obviously needs a toll?? Hilarious

From 2020 through 2023, 101 New Yorkers were killed by drivers running red lights, according to the DOT report. And in 2023, a whopping 29 fatalities were caused by drivers ignoring red lights, more than double the average from the last decade.

If this shit doesn't stop, I don't see how Mamdani can keep Tisch. Targeting cyclists while ignoring deadly vehicles is genuinely deranged, yet par for the course at the NYPD https://t.co/FVxQVaqE0p

Drivers are zooming onto and off the Williamsburg Bridge in Lower Manhattan by running red lights. But cops are targeting cyclists instead.

As NYC Fire Commissioner I would work w/ DOT to assist in creating the safe, enjoyable streets New Yorkers deserve. This starts w/ equipment plans that align w/ these priorities, improve public safety, & allow more affordable housing + better public spaces. Starting framework👇🏻
“Mayor-elect Mamdani has committed to fully staffing DOT to give them the leeway to pursue the streets that New Yorkers really deserve.”

Very cool that Dems had all the leverage in the world after Tuesdays elections and they just decided to completely cave to nearly all the Republicans demands in exchange for what amounts to a pinky promise.

Pulling defeat from the jaws of victory
NEWS: Centrist Senate Dems have secured a long-sought deal w/ Republicans to reopen the government these Dems, who pulled back from a deal last Thurs, are signaling they're going forward now - despite objections from other dems Dems still in a closed-door mtg - but CR is out

Democrats are so fucking pathetic. It’s exhausting. They absolutely LOVE to bail out Republicans after Republicans paint themselves into a corner
this “deal” is embarrassingly bad, doesn’t even include ACA funding, and every Dem who supports it deserves to be primaried Trump is reeling right now, his popularity is crumbling, and he keeps flailing and making stupid decisions. bailing him out now is just totally insane

Every single Democrat that votes for the deal should be primaried. 24 million Americans are going to have their healthcare costs doubled. Tuesday's elections proved that the people are with us. We are standing up for Americans. They deserve a party who will fight for them.

Time for a new NY Dems chair, Jay Jacobs has to go
Democrats in NY had HUGE history-making wins in almost every corner of the state this week! But you wouldn't know that by looking at the @nydems website, where the last update is from March 2025, and before that, September 2024. Oh, and 1 tweet. Come on NYDems, get it together!
