This scenario where a third party, in this case a Chinese bus supplier, has access to digital systems and can potentially modify or remotely interfere with operation is becoming an extremely common IT security issue (and obvious to anyone but politicians).

Exactly, just because the current Government is not planning to use Digital ID to track an individuals carbon footprint, or implement a carbon Passport scheme, doesn't mean a future Government won't.

It might not be the current Government's plan to use digital ID for this sort of tracking, but once created, you can't constrain future governments from using it in that way. That's the problem. https://t.co/tS1wLF5zhl

The mass surveillance of bank accounts is going to be a nightmare for pensioners. Algorithmic errors are inevitable, just like they occur with money laundering checks on bank accounts leaving many vulnerable pensioners having to prove their innocence. https://t.co/E4lM6wtsbS

Let's hope J.P. Morgan staff revolt about being forced to hand over their biometrics. But it is concerning that US law is so weak that J.P. Morgan can consider such a plan. https://t.co/dalxaXHlwX

Keir Starmer nor Indian officials will ever admit to you that 815 million Indians details were available for sale on the dark web since Oct 2023. Lots of risks & weaknesses have been exposed in India's Aadhaar & governing UIDAI systems.

"Now Starmer wants Digital ID cards to cover Britons' everyday lives". Well no surprise there then as it was clearly the plan all along and claims Digital ID would help in "stopping the boats" was just a cover story. https://t.co/2jzVeWvH8p

Interesting point made in this comment piece about how the justification for introducing Digital IDs, could worryingly also be applied to justifying the abolition of physical cash.
