Why does Hollywood insist on not being historically accurate when it comes to armour. In the upcoming Odyssey film, they'd look so much better in the accurate armour on the left.

After one of my books hit #1 in its genre, a former university lecturer messaged me to say it was rubbish and that success like that would never happen again. It didโa few times. My only reply? โThose who can, do. Those who canโt, teach.โ
Well, a family member not so subtly implied this author thing probably isn't going anywhere. My response: "Meh." My thoughts: *You may be right, but now I'll die trying to prove you wrong. Thanks for the motivation.* A little spite will take you places (I hope ๐

I absolutely hate how AI has turned people who know nothing about writing into self professed experts! The em dash is a perfectly viable punctuation mark.

So essentially if you're a good writer an AI detector will 9/10 say that your words are AI created. Next time some asshole accuses you of using AI when you haven't just remember this.

'Meanwhile, writing with spelling mistakes, slang, odd phrasing, or emotional quirks is more likely to pass as โhumanโ because detectors associate messiness with authenticity.'

Straight from an AI on why AI detectors do NOT work - 'If your writing happens to be grammatically clean, evenly structured, or uses common phrasing, the detector might interpret that as โAI-likeโ โ even though you wrote it yourself.'

I was accused as you do by lefties on here of paying for a blue tick on my account... thing is I still have no idea why I have one. I did 1 round of ads over a year ago and that's it. I don't pay monthly and still the tick is there.

The sheer ego of these BBC employees. They are gaslighting on a whole other level. They were desperate for Corbyn to be elected. They spoke about Boris with contempt. They were desperate to stop Brexit. They have no idea just how reviled the BBC has become.
If BBC News was a hotbed of left wing wokery producing systemically biased coverage Jeremy Corbyn may well have been elected Prime Minister in 2019. Itโs not. He wasnโt. And we got Boris Johnson instead.

When you stop watching television for even a month, you realise just how much brainwashing it does. Not watching it for years makes you realise you live in a separate reality to those who still do.

What is it with so many modern writers? Just reboot it and make each movie seperate like they used to be. The whole 'we can never change the character' thing is beyond weird to me.
James Bondโs death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond โwas blown to pieces.โ Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says: โYou can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

I'm starting to think December 22nd may be a terrible date to release a new book... maybe I should push it back a few weeks.

I got a Chirp audiobook deal! What does that mean? It means you can now listen to Orders of Magnitude for a buck. Mil sci-fi meets cosmic horror meets incensepunk. Just do it already. https://t.co/hPHoVQ9G28

Itโs rare these days to find a Netflix film thatโs actually good and a story crafted with care, purpose, and vision.

Itโs rare these days to find a Netflix film thatโs actually good and a story crafted with care, purpose, and vision. Guillermo del Toroโs Frankenstein (2025) is exactly that: a haunting, beautiful,...
