8/ A stronger professional cycle: share an idea, adapt it to your sequence, try it with children, then share back what changed & what you learned. That is how ideas mature & workload reduces without losing rigour.

7/ Appearance matters less than clarity. Mary Myattโ€™s โ€œuseful & beautifulโ€ reminds us that beauty is about precision that supports thinking, not decoration. Simple resources can be excellent resources. A plain layout can still enable deep disciplinary thinking.

6/ Reauthoring also sharpens what success will sound & look like beyond completion. Finished work is a weak proxy for learning. Another trend: some teachers hold back from sharing because they fear judgement, or think their materials do not look polished enough.

5/ Tasks earn their place when they grow from the curriculum sequence & lesson purpose. Adapting forces us to clarify why it sits here, what knowledge it draws on, which misconceptions it may reveal, & how it will stretch children.

4/ Yet a task works because of the thinking behind it. If we lift it straight into a new unit or class, that thinking can be skipped. The task may look fine, while learning stays thin.
