Following our latest Live Facial Recognition deployments in Westminster and Croydon three people have been arrested. This is part of our commitment to listen to our communities and remove criminals from their streets.

Seven men were arrested following our deployment of Live Facial Recognition in Croydon yesterday. The men, aged between 19 and 49, were arrested for offences including rape, robbery, GBH, fraud, burglary and the supply of control drugs. All remain in custody.

Officers discovered a cannabis grow within Croydon Town Centre comprised of several hundred plants of varying maturity. This is the second large scale, organised cannabis factory within a few months which will hugely frustrate criminals operating within the area.
