Yesterday two of our rehab team members were involved in an interesting and exciting joint meeting of the RCSLT, BATOD and NDCS to discuss specialist speech and language therapy services for deaf children and young people. It’s great for all services to be working together!

Did you know? The brain can process sounds faster than visual stimuli. An auditory stimulus takes only 8-10 milliseconds to reach the brain, but on the other hand, a visual stimulus takes 20-40 milliseconds #AudiologyAwarenessMonth

The 6 ling sounds (mm, oo, aah, ee, sh, ss) encompass the frequency range of all phonemes, so they can help to determine whether the full range of speech frequencies can be heard. They are used as a helpful check to ensure hearing devices are working. #AudiologyAwarenessMonth
