Last night, the South Portland City Council voted to merge South Portland Bus Service and Greater Portland Metro. The merger will be finalized if it is approved by Greater Portland Metro's Board of Directors, scheduled to meet October 24 at 4pm.
The South Portland City Council voted unanimously on Tuesday to merge the city-run bus system into Greater Portland Metro.

Service Update-Wednesday, Sept 18 (10:45 am) Due to construction, the Route 8 Metro bus stop at Elm/Lancaster is temporarily closed. Riders should use the stop on Marginal Way in front of Trader Joe's.

Service Update - Friday, August 23 Due to paving, it may be necessary to detour Route 8 service, on Friday, August 23, near Spring and Emery streets. If the bus stop at Emery/Spruce is closed due to construction, please use the closest bus stop on Danforth St.

Reminder: On Thursday 8/22, railroad track work over Brighton Avenue/St. John St. will detour all traffic on Brighton Avenue. Metro buses will be detoured around the closure. Delays should be expected; but, no stops are expected to be missed. Closure is expected 7am to 7pm.
